Texas holdem is the most popular poker game that is played from start to end in the World Poker Tour championship.  Like any other game you need to learn the basics of card games, the ranking, the high hand, the low hand, the pairs, flush, straight, ante, blind bets, call, raise, re-raise, folds and every aspect of poker before you get in to playing real money games.  Unless you learn them calling in Texas Holdem can seem to speak undecipherable codes from your own mother tongue.

The variations of Texas holdem based on betting limits would be:-
• Limit Texas holdem
• No limit Texas holdem
• Pot limit Texas holdem

The rounds involved in Texas holdem can be briefly summarized and can be brought under:-
• Blind bets: Before actually seeing what the card ranks of the dealt cards are, the blind bets are to be initiated.  The player left to the dealer places the little blind and the player second to the dealer places the big blind.
• Pre-flop: During this round, each player is dealt two cards face down. After the bets are placed the cards are seen by each player, then the bet seems to start from the player clockwise next to the big bet, this player either calls or raises the big bet or folds his hand, and the bet rotates with the last person to bet being the big blind. The big blind has the chance to raise or check without betting.
• Flop: Three community cards are dealt face up in the table.  This dealing is called the flop. The betting round rotates in the table following the flop of the cards.
• Turn:  The fourth community card is dealt face up in the table.  This dealing is called the turn. The betting round rotates in the table following the turn.
• River: The fifth community card is dealt face up in the table.  This dealing is called the river. The betting round rotates in the table following the turn.
• Showdown:  After all the dealing and betting is over all remaining players who did not fold are supposed to show down their pocket cards and the cards are compared to the community table and the best high hand splits the pot.

After one single round having been completed, the dealer button for the next Texas holdem table will rotate to the left to the next player and the next table of games can be played as explained above.
